⑦ Guanyin Waterfall (Full Price)
Guanyin Waterfall is located in Zhuqi Township, Chiayi County, on a branch of the Niouciou Creek, an upstream tributary of the Puzi River. The stream cascades down from the top of the cliff, and from a distance, it resembles Guanyin, the Buddhist goddess of compassion, standing on her side and pouring water from a pure bottle, which is how the waterfall got its name.
There are a total of 8 waterfalls in the area, with those directly flowing down from the mountain peaks creating spectacular sights in the forested canyon. The Alishan Forest Recreation Area commissioned a professional team to investigate and monitor the area, and it was found that during periods of abundant water flow, the negative ion concentration in the Guanyin Waterfall area can reach between 12,000 and 69,000 units per cubic centimeter.
